MEET DOYLE HEFFLEY

Doyle Heffley was elected to represent the 122nd District in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 2010. As a lifelong resident of Carbon County and a 1989 graduate of Lehighton Area High School, Doyle understands the concerns and priorities of the residents of the 122nd District.

 

From 1996-2010, Doyle worked in the trucking industry where his work ethic and dedication propelled him to a management position overseeing more than 100 employees. Prior to his election to the state House, he served as an industry consultant, using his knowledge and experience to help companies operate more efficiently.

 

In addition to attending Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Trachsville, Doyle is also an active member of the community. He is a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post No. 314 and the Indian Mt. Rod and Gun Club. He is a former member of the Lower Towamensing Planning Commission and has served as both committeeman and chairman of the Carbon County Republican Committee.

 

As an Eagle Scout, he has been instilled with a deep sense of patriotism for state and country. He is an outdoorsman and a strong supporter of Second Amendment rights.

 

Doyle is the son of Larry and Roberta Heffley of Lehighton. He resides in Palmerton with his wife, Kellie, and their two daughters, Elizabeth and Angela

 

 

Property Tax Relief

Doyle voted for House Bill 76 to completely eliminate school property taxes. He has authored legislation that forces all casino table game revenue to go towards property tax relief, as promised.

 

Welfare Reform

Doyle is committed to reducing widespread welfare fraud in Pennsylvania. Towards this goal, Doyle has championed legislation which prohibits illegal aliens from possessing and using ACCESS cards. Doyle supports drug tests for welfare recipients as a basic reform to protect taxpayers.

Job Creation

Passed job creation bills and has worked tirelessly to ensure our area is creating family-sustaining jobs. Doyle understands that small businesses are the backbone of Pennsylvania's economy and has worked to diversify the job market by expanding the state's use of alternative energy sources. He will continue to make job creation in Pennsylvania a top priority. Doyle is endorsed by the NFIB and currently serves on the bi-Partisan Ben Franklin Tech. development board.

 

Veterans

Sponsor of legislation that forces the state to accept training which veterans received while in the military. A son of a veteran, Doyle believes it is vital that veterans are not made to jump through hoops when applying for a license or certification issued by the Commonwealth.

Environment

Doyle voted for ACT 13 that better protects our environment from fracking effects. Doyle also voted to protect endangered species by reforming the listing process in Pennsylvania.

Taking on Drug Epidemic

Doyle Heffley led a bipartisan task force focused on ending the drug epidemic in our community.  He is working with Republicans and Democrats to pass laws that provide treatment for addicts and get dangerous drug dealers off of our streets.

Bi-Partisan

Doyle voted for what was best for his constituents and voted against the out of touch gas tax that would be a heavy burden on families and seniors. Doyle always votes for what he believes is best for his constituents regardless of party.
